Integrations

ChatGPT Integration

Bring your decisions, preferences, and project context into every ChatGPT conversation—instantly. Start new chats with the same memory, without copy-pasting or re-explaining.

GPT Store Integration

ContextStream is available as a Custom GPT in the GPT Store. Connect once, and every ChatGPT conversation has access to your workspace's decisions, preferences, and project context.

What You Get

When you connect ChatGPT to ContextStream, every conversation has access to:

Your Decisions

Past architectural and technical decisions from your workspace, automatically surfaced when relevant.

Your Preferences

Coding styles, tool choices, and workflow preferences you've captured over time.

Your Project Context

Codebase knowledge, file structures, and documentation from your indexed projects.

Your Memory

Insights, lessons learned, and important context from previous sessions.

ChatGPT GPT tool in action

The video demonstrates connecting ChatGPT to ContextStream and using workspace context in conversations.

Quick Start

Step 1: Get the ContextStream GPT

  1. 1Open ChatGPT
  2. 2Search for "ContextStream" in the GPT Store
  3. 3Click Start Chat

Step 2: Connect Your Workspace

  1. 1On your first message, ChatGPT will prompt you to sign in
  2. 2Click Sign in with ContextStream
  3. 3Log in with your ContextStream account
  4. 4Select the workspace you want to access
  5. 5Grant the requested permissions

That's it! You're now connected.

How It Works

Every Conversation Starts Informed

Automatic context loading — The GPT immediately fetches your recent decisions, memory, and relevant context
Semantic search — Your first message is used to find related context from your entire workspace history
No re-explaining — The GPT already knows about your past decisions and preferences

Continuous Memory

As you chat:

  • Ask about past decisions — "What did we decide about authentication?"
  • Search your codebase — "Find error handling patterns in our API"
  • Capture new knowledge — Decisions made in this chat are automatically saved for future sessions

Example Conversations

ACCESSING PAST CONTEXT

You

How should I implement the user settings page?

ContextStream GPT

Based on your workspace:

  • • You decided to use React Hook Form for all forms (captured Dec 10)
  • • Your preference is to use Tailwind CSS for styling
  • • Looking at your codebase, similar pages follow the pattern in src/pages/ProfileSettings.tsx

Here's how I'd approach it following your established patterns...

MAKING NEW DECISIONS

You

Let's use PostgreSQL for the analytics database instead of MongoDB

ContextStream GPT

Got it! I've captured this decision to your workspace:

Decision: Use PostgreSQL for analytics database

Date: Today

Context: Chose PostgreSQL over MongoDB for analytics workload

This will be available in all future ChatGPT sessions and to your team.

Managing Access

Disconnect ChatGPT

To revoke ChatGPT's access to your workspace:

  1. 1. Go to your ContextStream dashboard
  2. 2. Navigate to Settings → Integrations
  3. 3. Find "ChatGPT" and click Revoke Access

Switch Workspaces

If you have multiple workspaces, you can switch between them:

  1. 1. In ChatGPT, ask: "List my workspaces"
  2. 2. The GPT will show available workspaces
  3. 3. Say: "Switch to [workspace name]"

OAuth 2.0 Authentication

ContextStream uses secure OAuth 2.0 authentication. Your credentials are never stored — only encrypted access tokens that can be revoked at any time.

Troubleshooting

"Sign in" keeps appearing

Try disconnecting and reconnecting from ChatGPT settings. Clear browser cookies for chat.openai.com. Ensure your ContextStream subscription is active.

No context found

Make sure your workspace has indexed content. Check that you've captured decisions or memory in your workspace. Try using the ContextStream web app first to verify your data.

Wrong workspace context

Ask the GPT: "Which workspace am I connected to?" Use "Switch to [workspace name]" to change workspaces.
